In these difficult financial, times many publishers have gone out of service. Little publishers are joining with other little publishers just to make it through. Given that I've been a freelancer for more than thirty years, I know something about the book industry. My chances of finding a publisher were slim, so I turned to Books you should read self-publishing.

Head to your Amazon.com desire list (I understand you have one) and copy the ISBN numbers from the product page and paste them into the PBS search window. After searching, the book's page will pop up (if it has an ISBN, it's more than likely in the PBS database).

Initially, try to take a look at your manuscript objectively. This is hard, however with some effort, you can do it. Recognize the target market. Does your prose fit this market? After I assessed my manuscript I included 2 certifying sentences, one specifying the target market more plainly, and another stating the purpose more clearly.

After acquiring or borrowing a copy of the book Mindful Dreaming, do not just check out the book directly through from start to finish. Treat this book as a knowing handbook. Read a chapter, then do the required work as it is described in the book. As an example: You need to have consistent dream recall in order to proceed to more involved procedures, so don't jump ahead, to get the most out of this book, take it an action at a time.

Provide the book suggestions on an eReader. Or, you can embrace the future rather of the past by providing ebooks and ereaders. There are a lot of readers out there who watch out for the newest advances in checking out technology, but many die-hard paper book fans have altered their tune after owning one of these devices.

2) Opt for a popular size. As you can think of, there are plenty of sizes to choose from. I would suggest 6" by 9", which is ideal for a book of around 100 pages.

One last recommendation is that you go and talk to a publisher in your neighborhood. A couple of years back, I participated in a seminar in which a leading publisher spoke and came about style and welcomed anyone to bring their books for his review. I want I had had that conversation prior to publishing one of my books. Sure the content was great, but a much better cover would have made a difference in sales. That's a lesson I want to hand down to you. Excellent covers sell books.
