Today’s story is about Supriya Agarwal, who spreads smiles by providing conventional-style organic plants curated to fit individual needs.

Interest in Planting

Supriya Agarwal is an interior designer by profession. She always had a love for organic plants. Earlier, the place Supriya used to live had enough space for organic plants. When she was younger, she lived in her grandfather’s house in Jangpura. The house had a big garden with lots of trees and organic plants. She actively used to take care of organic plants, and it made her happy.

Supriya and Her Family

A few years ago, she shifted to an apartment in Delhi. Supriya mentioned, “ In Delhi, there is less space to keep my organic plants. The balcony does not get enough direct sunlight for their healthy growth. In addition to outdoor organic plants, now I keep many indoor organic plants. There are multiple benefits of keeping indoor organic plants like – they make the house look beautiful and provide fresh air.”

Supriya currently stays with her parents. Her younger brother works in Mumbai.

The Idea of Starting Haryali

Whenever Supriya’s friends visited her home for tea or to meet her, they complimented her organic plants. Her friends showed a lot of interest in the organic plants at her home. Some even asked if she could arrange similar plants for her. This gave Supriya the idea to start Haryali an initiative to provide organic plants.

Supriya gives guidance related to personalized gardening that caters to individual needs. She mentioned, “ Everyone’s home is different, and so is the need for the kind of organic plants they want. Some people want plants that look beautiful as decoration, while organic plants some want to purify the air, and some want plants with flowers, etc.”

Organic Growth Boosters

Apart from guiding people and providing them with organic plants, Supriya also provides organic plant growth boosters. The plant growth booster is made of organic material like – vegetable peels, flowers collected from temples, and other organic materials that are available easily at home. At home, Supriya has three drums of 20 kilograms each. The drums are used to compost organic waste and make plant boosters.

Organic Home Cleaners

Additionally, Supriya also makes organic cleaners for the home. Supriya mentioned, “ I take one liter of water, and I put orange peels and 200 grams jaggery into it. Then I leave the amalgamation for 3-4 months. It turns out to be good. Whoever has used it till date has given feedback that the smell of the cleaner is good, and it cleans the house well.”

Special Miniature Gardens

During festivals or on special requests, Supriya creates and delivers miniature gardens. The miniature garden is perfect for indoors. The garden is made keeping the theme of a festival or special occasion in mind.
