Seating Ideas to Help Transform Your Timber Deck

Homes right across the country are benefitting from the new and improved outdoor space that a timber deck has given them, and in light of the ongoing pandemic, having such a usable space has become more important than ever.

If you’ve had a timber deck built for you by a local, professional company, you might be looking for some ways to make it even more appealing, and one of those is by having a selection of attractive, comfortable and functional seating arrangements. No timber deck is complete without somewhere to sit and kick off your shoes as you enjoy the sunset, or if you’re an early bird, the sunrise!

Here are some seating ideas to help you get the most out of your fabulous timber deck:

A dining set

Timber decks are the perfect space for entertaining, especially when the weather is fair and the BBQ has been sparked up! But, how can you entertain properly without a weatherproof dining set? The answer is, you can’t.

Coming in a range of sizes and styles, a dining set could make your timber deck complete, and give you an excuse to invite all of the family round to enjoy your chargrilled culinary delights!

Swinging chairs

For lounging around in admiring the view and listening to the chirp of the birds, or settling down with a good book, swinging chairs come in single or two-seater options, and can help make your deck an amazingly comfortable spot to hang out in.

A hammock

Hammocks don’t have to be for a tropical island, you can lie in a hammock on your timber deck and dream about the crashing surf and wheeling gulls overhead!

Sun loungers

Again, who says you have to be at the beach to take advantage of a sun lounger? A couple of these on your deck will soon have you so relaxed that you don’t need to go to the beach!

Benches

Benches are great if you’ve got a small timber deck, or it’s already crowded with other items. While not as attractive as some other seating options, they are exceptionally functional.

Weatherproof couches

What better way to truly get comfortable on your deck than by nestling into a comfy couch, and provided its weatherproof, it can stay out there all year round for you and guests to enjoy.

Beanbags

Popular in the 80s, these retro seats have made a huge comeback, and are so easy to just throw down and sink into! Just make sure the beanbags you choose for your deck, are fully water and weatherproof.

Rocking chairs

Rock, rock, rock your troubles away! There’s nothing more soothing and relaxing than a comfy rocking chair, and with so many styles on the market today, you could stick to a more traditional rocking chair that will match the timber of your deck, or opt for a sleeker, more modern model.

Folding chairs

While folding chairs aren’t necessarily built for comfort, they’re perfectly good enough to sit some extra bottoms on if you’re having a party, or some unexpected visitors show up, and you invite them to join you on your deck.

If you’ve got a wonderful timber deck that you want to show off to your friends, family and neighbours, just make sure you’ve got enough seats for everyone!
