Trying To Solve Tricky Riddles Is A Great Activity For The Elderly

It's a proven medical fact that as we get older, our brains start to slow down and not work as well as they used to. It is also a proven medical fact that if you put your brain to work on complex projects; you can maintain a high level of mental ability for a much longer period of time. It is for this reason that older people are encouraged to work daily on solving tricky riddles.

Regardless of a person's age, when you first start solving riddles, you want to start with simple riddles. If you start with real puzzles, it will be almost impossible for you to come up with at least one correct Good riddles with answers.

Most of the experts involved in this type of activity have developed their own methods for solving difficult riddles. Although they are all slightly different, they have certain principles that they use that are very similar.


Learning how to solve tricky riddles is not only a lot of fun, but your time will fly by as soon as you start playing sports. It will make you think harder than ever in your entire life with just a couple of sentences. A very nice benefit of working on riddles is that it keeps your mind sharp and your wit still as good as ever.

When you first get started, you will need to learn some of the tried and true methods for finding answers. One of the first things you will learn very quickly is that you need to slow down your normal reading speed and read every word in every word very carefully.

Most great riddle solvers will tell you that the most important thing they do when they first sit down and try to come up with an answer is read the riddle very carefully. They also tend to read a riddle many times before they even begin to think of an answer to it.

They do this for many reasons, one of which is that they are trying to get inside the writer's head and figure out where the mystery is leading. These professionals are already fully aware that the obvious answer will always be wrong. They know that the author is trying to push you in one direction, but in reality you need to go down a completely different path.

They will ask themselves many questions, such as: "Why did the author use this word and not that"? Or "What are all the possible less obvious alternatives that I should consider"?

Being able to consistently come up with correct answers to riddles is not easy, but it is possible. The longer you practice this, the better you get at it. It's like sitting down and doing a crossword puzzle for the first time. Very few, if any, manage to get all the words right until they've been working on it for a while.

Solving riddles for people in their twilight years is a fantastic way for them to have fun, while at the same time making them use their brains intensively. Riddle me this with answers. Some of them will be disappointed when they first start because they can't find the answers, but if they stick around for a while, most of them will eventually get the hang of it.
