A logo of a company is a visual representation and speaks about the brand and the area in which it deals.

Designing a business logo takes a lot of effort and a thorough understanding of the business. The reason being a wrongly designed business logo could tarnish the brand image or communicate a wrong message to its audience.

• Gather proper knowledge about the brand: It is ideal to have a proper insight into the brand before you design the logo. You should know what your business deals in and the target market it caters to. Also, know about your brand ideology and brand personality. Again try to get insight into what message the brand wants to portray before its customers.

• The impression is crucial: The logo should be impressive and catchy enough to mesmerize the customer, and it should be something one could recall at first glance. Make your logo unique based on new concepts so that it stands out in the ocean of logos in the market. The design must be unique enough so that it differentiates the brand amongst the competitors.


• Colors should be used in a planned way: Colors play a vital role in determining a brand’s message. E.g., when a red color dominates the logo, it will communicate an aggressive, passionate, and energetic vibe. Hence it is ideal if your brand is targeting youngsters. Blue color stirs up the emotion of intelligence and togetherness. Every color communicates an emotion hence the color used for designing a logo should be in alignment with the brand personality.

Then, it is ideal to have a logo with the company’s name featured in it. This kind of logo is called a logotype. Many big brands like coca-cola and IBM are popular examples.


• Keep it simple: Many experts and top graphical designers suggest the business houses to keep the logo simple. It is advised not to use more than two colors, fonts, or other elements in a logo. It helps the viewers get the message and recall the brand at one glance.
