Is Apple Pay Accepted at McDonald's?

When you pay for your meal at McDonald's with Apple Pay, a lot is going on behind the scenes. Here's what's going on in layman's terms. First, McDonald's and Apple Inc. signed a contract in which Apple Pay allowed McDonald's to integrate their technology into its system, and McDonald's allowed their customers to pay with Apple Pay.

 

McDonald's accepts Apple Pay

So, when you pay with Apple Pay at McDonald's, the Cash registers machine, your Apple Pay App, and the default bank account you've linked to Apple Pay will all communicate.
Apple Pay will verify that you have entered the correct password and that you have sufficient funds in your linked bank or credit account. When both of these conditions are met, the required funds will be transmitted from your local bank to McDonald's account via Apple Pay cash.

How to Pay at McDonald's Using Apple Pay Wallet
Late last night, when I'm about to pay at the Rock N Roll McDonald's, this customer, Russell, got stuck. He'd just finished eating and wanted to pay in cash, but he'd left his wallet on his desk at work. I contacted him, showed him how to use Apple Pay inside McDonald's, and within minutes he somehow had a usable Apple Pay installed, but he really realized how to use it.

To add a credit or debit card to your Apple Wallet, open the Wallet app and tap the plus sign (+) on the top right side of your iPhone. Use your camera to scan your credit or debit card, or manually enter your card information.

 

Pay with Apple Pay
You must enter your password, use your biometric, Face Unlock, or manually enter your password to prove that the phone is yours. Whichever way you think is best.
