The Planetary Gears are used in numerous mechanical devices. They do some important work, but most importantly, they provide gear reduction in power transmission equipment. A small motor that rotates very fast can provide enough power to the device, but this is the key because the torque is not enough. For example, an electric screwdriver requires a lot of torque to turn the screw, so the gear reduction is very large, but the motor only generates a small amount of torque at high speeds.
