NXP new car echo cancellation and noise reduction solution makes calls clearer

NXP Semiconductors NV announces the launch of a new ECNR (Echo Cancellation and Noise Reduction) solution that significantly reduces the noisy nature of voice communications and enables automakers to provide consumer satisfaction Make a call experience. This cost-effective solution combines innovative ECNR software that can be easily ported to NXP's leading car audio and audio processing DSP1 or i.MX series of application processors. This solution has been pre-certified by ITU-T P1110 and CarPlay? bc556ap

Echo and noise make it difficult to make calls during driving. Loudspeakers in the car generate echoes when transmitting voice signals for an incoming call. Echoes returning to the microphone can cause the caller to hear their own voice, distracting attention and possibly causing communication disruption. In addition, road noise from fans, exhaust pipes, tires, windows, and passengers may infiltrate into the call, resulting in unrecognizable calls and ultimately impairing the driving experience and causing trouble.

The new NXP ECNR solution solves these two problems by eliminating echoes and filtering out unwanted noise in the cockpit, thereby improving call quality. The ECNR solution can be ported to NXP-related chips and has been pre-certified by ITU-T P1110 and CarPlay®, which can reduce the R&D expenses of automotive manufacturers and shorten the design cycle. s1227-66bq

Alexandre Henon, Marketing Director of NXP Audio Solutions, said: “We have deployed NXP ECNR software for more than 1 billion mobile phones in the world2. We also hope to provide this market-proven, leading 3 technology to automotive customers. We meet the requirements of the automotive industry. ECNR was adjusted and the software was ported to two NXP chip families to provide customers with easy-to-implement, flexible, high-performance solutions based on where the customer needs to run ECNR functions.”
