"I requested that it not be shared." Karpin, after the match against Slovenia, film the song in the locker room.

Karpin will deal with individuals who recorded themselves in the locker area yelling "Valera, Valera."

Valery Karpin, the head coach of the Russian national team, addressed a video in which he and his players sang "Valera, Valera" after defeating Slovenia (2: 1) in a 2022 World Cup qualifier in an interview with RB Sport. According to him, he did not consent to the film being broadcast on the Internet.

- Yesterday's most popular videos from the national team's locker room were the sounds of "Valera" and your caution to the filmmaker: "Don't distribute it." What was it about them that made them so passionately opposed to publication?

- We'll figure out why they released the footage against my orders. I explicitly instructed them not to tell anyone about the story.

- But, honestly, what are you saying?

- This is a severe situation. We traveled from Slovenia, and by the time we arrived, the video had gone viral.

- The caption on the video said, "agreed with the head coach."

- Complete nonsense. The information should not be made public, according to the advice. They most likely believed I was joking.

- Do you believe the win over Slovenia was significant enough to warrant such raucous celebrations?

- It wasn't a stunning win, and we weren't delighted. Despite the fact that this place isn't particularly notable, we had a good time. It's no surprise that "Spartak," "Rostov," and "Armavir" have all featured the tune. It was no longer a surprise inside the national team.

At a 2022 World Cup qualifying match in Maribor on October 11, the Russian national team overcame the Slovenes. Igor Diveev and Georgy Dzhikia, both Russian defenders, scored goals.
