The Release Date of Daniel Craig Starrer “No Time to Die” Has Been Extended Yet Again

The delay has been announced amid the ongoing pandemic.

Daniel Craig’s final James Bond film, “No Time to Die” (also starring Rami Malek), was due to arrive last April itself; however, due to the lockdown, the film was postponed to October. Now, the latest announcement from the film’s producers has massively disappointed all the theater exhibitors, who are trying to rebuild their business and trying to deal with the heavy losses incurred to them by the pandemic.

Now, the fans have to wait up until October 8th, 2021, to finally see Daniel Craig in action as James Bond for the final time. The announcement of the delay has arrived on the official website of James Bond and on the official Twitter handle.

“No Time to Die” is a production venture of Universal Pictures (owned by Comcast Corporation) and MGM. The film was about to arrive in the month of April of 2020 before the release was pushed to the month of November of the same year. Then, the producers postponed the film to April of 2021. However, the film has now been postponed to October 8th, 2021, as the producers do not see the current scenario of the theaters as the ideal fit for the film’s release.

The cinematic product has been created courtesy of a colossal budget, which roughly amounts to $200 million. The film will be the final time we would see Daniel Craig in the James Bond suit.

The theater industry was massively banking on “No Time to Die” among other production ventures to reverse the situation at the theaters. The pandemic and the ensuing lockdown massively impacted the theater and film industry and brought them to a point where they have never been throughout their history. According to several reports, the theater industry in the United States and its neighboring country Canada suffered a heavy loss, which roughly amounts to 80% of their total annual turnover.

The loss has been incurred to the independent and big businesses alike, which includes Cineworld Plc, Cinema Holdings Inc, and AMC Entertainment.

Now, with the theaters still being closed in big cities like Los Angeles, the film producers are hesitant to try their luck with big films, and with average performances of a big production like Wonder Woman 1984, and the preceding one Tenet, film producers have seen that the cinephiles still do not consider the movie experience as a safe activity.

Many cinema theaters are locked, and the ones that are functioning do have certain limitations imposed on them, which ensures social distancing.

If anything can turn things around for the theater industry, it has to be a James Bond film. The last outing Daniel Craig had with the character, which was the 2015 film “Spectre,” the film performed spectacularly well and earned roughly around $800 million at the box office. 2012 film “Skyfall” was even better, and it earned around $1billion.

After Wonder Woman 1984, the next big release waiting in line is Scarlett Johansson’s starrer “Black Widow,” which currently has the scheduled release date of May 7th, 2021.
