What is the Difference Between Joints, Blunts, and Spliffs

Vaporization might be at the forefront of the cannabis conversation these days, but nothing beats the classic experience of rolling. Traditional smoking methods still reign supreme and are the preferred consumption method for many around the world! To learn more about cannabis joints, click here.

While many use the terms interchangeably, cannabis joints, blunts, and spliffs are unique products with specific definitions. How do they differ? Read on to find out!

Joints

The term "joints" is one of the commonly used. This form of consumption also happens to be the most straightforward.

A joint consists of pure cannabis compacted into a thin tube of rolling paper. Generally, joints have crutches or filters on one end. They act as a mouthpiece and provide stability to the roll.

Beyond that, joints have nothing but cannabis. However, different rolling papers deliver unique smoking experiences. For example, paper material will impact burn rate while flavors add some spice to your buzz.

Blunts

At face value, blunts look pretty similar to joints. They are cannabis "cigarettes" that feature a joint or filter. Blunts are usually bigger than joints, offering an extended smoking session. But other than that, they look nearly identical to joints.

So, how are they different? It all comes down to the paper.

Blunts use special wrappers or cigar paper made out of tobacco. The mixture of tobacco and cannabis adds complex layers to the experience. It also adds more energy to the high and provides a distinct flavor.

Spliffs

Finally, we have spliffs. A spliff is a roll that combines the best of both worlds. Instead of pure cannabis, this form of consumption utilizes a mixture of marijuana and tobacco inside the rolling paper.

There are many ways to customize the experience with spliffs. Adjusting the tobacco-to-cannabis ratio has a significant impact, allowing you to control the buzzy layers of your high as you see fit.

Smoke Your Way

Whether you prefer basic cannabis joints or more customized spliffs, there are many ways to enjoy marijuana. With unique colors, flavors, and paper materials available, the sky's the limit when it comes to cannabis consumption.
